The Chilli House serves the best authentic Sichuan cuisine which are only served in select restaurants in Sichuan province in China. This food is rarely found elsewhere in China and cannot be found elsewhere in New Zealand.

Sichuanese cuisine is world famous for being very spicy, however it is about much more than just its fieriness. What really makes Sichuanese cuisine stand out from the rest is its stunning and massive variety of flavours. From the heartland of Sichuan in China, we have opened The Chilli House in Hamilton, New Zealand to share China’s most famous food with you all.

Our Restaurant

The Chilli House is a hidden gem of Hamilton. It serves the best authentic Sichuanese cuisine in town. Choose from a range of noodle dishes, rice dishes or our famous handmade dumplings for an easy lunchtime meal. Or you could try a more substantial mains meal with braised chicken, pork or tofu to choose from. Pair it all with a Chinese beer or even our Chinese baijiu (spirit) if you are in the mood for the strong stuff.

This has got to be Hamiltons best kept secret! We stumbled upon it by accident when we had a hankering for some authentic Asian cuisine. The small restaurant is almost easy to miss in amongst the many other eateries in the south end of Victoria street but it’s clearly popular with locals in the know. Everything we ordered was fresh, tasty and delicious and servings were generous. Can’t wait to come back!!
